How to Calculate GPA

GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated by multiplying each course unit by the grade point earned, summing them up, and dividing by the total number of units taken.

Formula:
GPA = Total Grade Points / Total Units
Grade points are assigned as: A = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D = 2, E = 1, F = 0 (on 5.0 scale).

FUTO Grading System

• A: 70-100 (5.0 points)
• B: 60-69 (4.0 points)
• C: 50-59 (3.0 points)
• D: 45-49 (2.0 points)
• E: 40-44 (1.0 point)
• F: 0-39 (0 points)

Degree Classification

Based on your CGPA:

• First Class: 4.50 – 5.00
• Second Class Upper: 3.50 – 4.49
• Second Class Lower: 2.40 – 3.49
• Third Class: 1.50 – 2.39
• Pass: 1.00 – 1.49
• Fail: 0.00 – 0.99
